IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Announcing a new medical third-party administrator and provider network

Effective July 1, 2025:
UMR is replacing MVP Select Care

The medical third-party administrator and provider network will change from MVP Select Care to UMR. This change will provide expanded in-network health care providers resulting in lower costs, while ensuring high-quality service and support.

UMR is the nation’s largest third-party administrator (TPA), serving more than 3,800 benefits plans and their 6 million members. As a TPA with 70+ years of experience, they pair personalized service with intuitive technology.

What does this mean for members? It means, your health care experience will be simple and seamless – so you can focus on living well.

Confirm Your Doctors are In-Network
The healthcare provider network will be UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus. We encourage you to confirm that your preferred health care provider is in this network. You can do this at the UMR website, www.umr.com/find-a-provider.

Many members will be able to find an in-network healthcare provider in the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus network. However, to expand the provider list, members in selected counties will also be able to select a healthcare provider from the POMCO Select with Choice Plus network. Members residing in Broome, Cortland, Delaware, Monroe, Onondaga, Ontario, Otsego, Steuben, and Westchester counties received a separate communication. Therefore, if you reside in one of these counties, you will have access to both the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus network and the POMCO Select with Choice Plus network.

ID Cards
All members will receive a new ID card directly from UMR. These will be mailed in June and will arrive before July 1.

Transition of Care
Note that even if your healthcare provider is not in network, you may be able to continue to receive benefits paid at the in-network level for certain medical conditions for 90 days after the July 1, 2025, effective date. To be eligible, you must have been, and continue to be, under a treatment plan by a Physician who was a member of the network previously used by the NY44 Health Benefits Plan Trust health plan.

You must complete a transition of care request. More information and the request form will be available on the NY44 website, www.ny44.e1b.org/UMR, starting on June 1.
